SUMMER 2012 RETREATS

July 1 to 7 - “Developing a Christic Consciousness” Presented by Father Michael Crosby, OFM, Cap.
This retreat will probe themes related to “being in Christ” that impact our understanding of ourselves as part of the cosmos, the nation, the church and our groups. Themes will include silence and solitude, how our stories fit into the cosmic store, what it means to embrace the “Gospel of the Kin-dom of the Trinitarian Connectedness,” and other themes aimed at helping us be more whole-heartedly connected to everyone and everything in the universe.
Offering: $475.00

July 15 to 20 - “Mission and Discipleship” Presented by Father Anthony Gittins, CSSp
Fr. Anthony Gittins, CSSp, will look at the intrinsic relation between mission and discipleship. He will explore the nature of the call to discipleship by looking at examples, particularly of women disciples, from the Gospels.
Fr. Gittins’ wide range of experiences, especially his lived experience of discipleship as a Spiritan priest and missionary, gives him outstanding credibility in what he shares in his ministry in our contemporary society with its challenges and global dimensions.
He is an international presenter of the following topics: Religious Life and Religious Living, Christian (Missionary) Spirituality; Mission Theology, Discipleship, Intercultural Living, Inculturation, Ministry on the Margins.
Offering: $450.00

July 22 to 27 - “Jesus came close and touched them, saying: „Rise, and have no fear‟.” MT 17.7 Presented by Father Jim Gavin, OFM, Cap.
After the Transfiguration event, the disciples falling on their faces and trembling from great fear, and Jesus touching them and raising them up, seeing “only Jesus”, inaugurates a way of possessing and enjoying divine beauty in the very midst of the world’s darkness, pain, and distress.
There is a need in God’s nature to communicate Goodness and Beauty utterly in the WORD. Using Biblical narrative and Psalms, this relaxed preached retreat will allow us to enjoy the inner stillness that is formed by a disciplined pursuit of compassionate response to God’s Beauty. We will celebrate daily Eucharistic liturgy, two daily gentle conferences, and a communal sacrament of anointing and reconciliation, (all optional). Father will conclude his program on Friday after lunch; guests are welcome to stay until Saturday morning.
Offering: $450.00
