Silent Directed Weekend Retreat

Do you need some “quiet, downtime” after the holidays? Have you ever considered making an individual directed retreat? The Spiritual Renewal Center is sponsoring a weekend silent retreat during which each retreatant will be assigned a director with whom you will meet four times and who will make suggestions for your prayer and schedule times for you to discuss your prayer experience.

Introduction To The Enneagram

This workshop will introduce participants to the basics of the Enneagram, a journey of selfdiscovery. Knowledge of the Enneagram will result in a new self-understanding and bring you to a greater personal healing and freedom under the direction of the Spirit.

The presenter is Father Jim Lauducci, noted and experienced facilitator of Enneagram workshops and retreats.

CELEBRATION OF ST. PATRICK’S FEAST

Enjoy a festive, traditional Irish Dinner at 6:00. This will be followed by a presentation entitled: Celtic Soul: Seeing the Divine in The Ordinary, given by Sister Mary Ellen Curtin, CSJ, Director of Earth Weaver Learning Center, spiritual director. Mary Ellen loves her Irish heritage and will lead us in a reflection on the Celtic Spirituality which reflects a sense of wonder, awe, love and respect, the oneness and goodness of all creation. We will explore some of the Celts’ beliefs, poetry and music.

HOLY WEEK TRIDUUM RETREAT

During these holy days we offer the opportunity for you to spend some time away to reverently observe the commemoration of the Passion, Death and Resurrection of Jesus. Father Jack Wagner will be our celebrant and offer some reflections as well as the Church’s Holy Week rituals each day. Father Wagner is a retired priest of the Syracuse Diocese and noted inspirational speaker.

Retreat begins on Wednesday evening with dinner at 6:00 and concludes following the Easter Vigil on Saturday evening.

“POETRY: A SPIRITUAL TOOL FOR TRANSFORMATION

Poetry “catches the heart off-guard and blows it open” (Roger Housden). Poetry can open us to communion and grace allowing God to speak to us with inner and outer images. Using the poetry of Mary Oliver, David Whyte, Rainer Maria Rilke and others, Sister Mary Ellen Curtin, CSJ will help us open ourselves to a deeper awareness of God in our lives.

“PREPARING FOR ETERNITY: A CATHOLIC DISCUSSION OF END OF LIFE CONCERNS”

Father Joseph Champlin has recently published his latest book, Preparing For
Eternity. Using this material and his personal experience, he offers this day of reflection to help us to acknowledge, understand and appreciate in a deeper way the journey we all face into eternity. Father Champlin is well known as a writer and inspirational speaker locally and well beyond.

The day begins with coffee and hospitality at 9:00 followed by Father’s presentations, lunch and time for discussion. Closure is 3:00. His books will be available for you to have autographed and purchased.

WEEKEND RETREAT/SEMINAR FOR MARRIED COUPLES

Tom and Emily Kolb who have been facilitating Marriage Seminars since 1972 will facilitate this weekend experience. In a relaxed setting, you and your spouse can escape the normal routine and enjoy time with one another while
learning new ways to deepen your relationship. Discussions include: our longing for unconditional love and respect; acknowledging that every marriage experiences sacrifice, hurt and suffering; making each others lives more balanced; the daily benefit of sharing feelings, giving, forgiving; the process of conflict, argue, negotiate and agreement; our roles in reducing each other's stress. A weekend Mass, Renewal of Vows, Candle Ceremony and social time will complete the experience.

The retreat opens on Friday evening at 6:00 (dinner) and closes on Sunday morning.
