St. Francis Peace Gathering "Hope is Never Lost"
Join us for a day of Awareness and Celebration of the Gift of Peace in our troubled world. Our featured speaker will be John Dau, a survivor of a 14
year journey from his home village in Duk County, Sudan in 1987 to Syracuse New York in 2001. During this journey of more than 1000 miles, he was one of
the older boys who had to lead thousands of younger children. Brought to Syracuse with 140 other “Lost Boys of Sudan”, his life is a remarkable
story of cultural adaptation and courage. Part of his personal story and the story of the Lost Boys has been made into a documentary entitled, God
Grew Tired of Us which won two awards in the 2006 Film Festival.
Father Peter Major, Syracuse missionary who has spent many years among the people of the Sudan, will be our celebrant for Mass at Noon. Come and
pray, listen, learn and be inspired!
Offering $20 per person; all proceeds will go to the Jon Dau Sudan Foundation, whose vision is of a Southern Sudan where everyone has healthcare and an education.

life, and peace with our daily choices. This spiritually nourishing workshop given by Susan Major will include reflections, inspiring stories, practical tools,
