A Retreat with St. Kateri Tekakwitha
Presented by Sister Concetta Fabo, OSF

The final words of St. Kateri Tekakwitha were, “Jesus, I love you.”  She is also quoted as saying, “. . . the soul finds its delight in being near to Jesus Christ.”  If memory serves well, once in a church bulletin in Canada, this symbolism was expressed thus:  The steady beating of a drum echoes the steady beating of the loving heart of Jesus.  Perhaps this was the experience of St. Kateri in her conversion process.  You are invited to come, enter into, and experience some delight in being near to Jesus Christ in this retreat with St. Kateri.  Some Native American culture will be part of this retreat; e.g., prayer, symbols, customs, etc.

Prayer Shawl - and Sundry - Ministry

This God activity will enter its third year and, if you knit or crochet, you are welcome to join our group.  We have made afghans for veterans at Veterans Hospital, veterans at Chapel House in Auburn and have been making items to give to new mothers and babies at Joseph House in Syracuse when it opens.  As we are involved in this ministry, we are reminded of the inspired words from Psalm 139:13:  “You knit me in my mother’s womb.”  How about that for a way to describe God’s creation!  And your creativity?
For additional information or questions please contact Sister Concetta at the retreat center.
